Wait…hold up….Rescue Plan?!?

September 30, 2008

If there is one thing I cannot stand its when politicos try to insult me to my damn face.

If…

You owned a business, and your business was in danger of failing, and I gave you a loan, guess what….I BAILED YOU OUT!!!!

Now…you could say I rescued you, saved you, aided you, assisted you, you can say whatever the hell you want to say…it does not change what I did

I bailed your a** out.

Now, this isn’t about rescuing me (the American citizen), for if it were, we’d be talking about student loan amnesty, we’d be talking about credit amnesty, we would not be talking about Wachovia amnesty.

This is about rescuing Wall Street, which we hope will rescue me, except I’ve been struggling for much longer than Wall Street.  Wall Street is just getting an inkling of the pain I’ve been going through for the last EIGHT YEARS!!!!!!

This plan failed to pass and upon further thought, I’m not sure why I thought it would.  A Bailout plan is a total affront to the conservative agenda.  Conservatives hate welfare.  To them, this is corporate welfare–at its worst.  They believe the system should be strong enough to allow businesses to both succeed and fail without the whole system going to pot.  Personally, I think they only stick to this when it suits them…but that’s another matter…

It all sounds good enough, except what happens when the system is the problem?  What happens when you need to edit the registry sort of speak?  I could be wrong but this is how I’m seeing this.  As you know, when you start effin with your cpu’s registry, you risk computer death so, you had better know what the hell you’re doing. Where is an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Stockmarket Engineer) when you need one????

For me, that’s where the problem is…no one knows what the hell they’re doing, they barely know what the hell they are talking about.  Its why poor Jim Leher had to ask about this four times during the debates.  Its why every politician you hear has hesitation in his or her voice…they don’t know and they don’t want to be on the wrong side of this plan.

What morons!

So “concerned” were they that chose to do nothing.  This is easy for them, they have money.  They have what they need to get whatever they need.  So its nothing for them to say, “I say no to this plan and you can’t make say yes!  And I won’t eat my peas either!”

You can call this a rescue plan, you can call this a bailout, you can call it whatever you want, but don’t insult me to my face like this is about me, because besides the fact that I’m paying for it, this has more to do with perserving the American way of life (for rich folks) than it does with ”rescuing” my poor a**.

Seven Hundred and Seventy-Seven Points

September 29, 2008

It is hard to type that without saying…wow.

The single largest one-day drop in history.

I saw a guy today on John St. (a couple blocks from Wall) just bawling…aloud…everyone knew why.

I’m not sure where is this going, but if its not hell, it is to the town next it.

This is bad, very bad.

Get ready.

You aint tired of the pump YET?!?

I keep hearing politicians talk about reducing our dependence on foreign oil by using renewable energy sources.  Well I wondered, who’s studying that? and how close are they?  Politicians can’t reduce boiling water, so what heck do they know about rewnewable energy sources? I, by the way, know absolutely nothing on the subject other than, it is past time we got serious about energy as laymen.  Well it turns out these are the National Renewable Energy Laboratory are the people you and me pay to do this stuff http://www.nrel.gov/rredc/

They want to…

Biofuels: reduce gasoline usage by 20% in ten years

Wind: 20% of total provided energy by 2030

Solar: Be market competitive by 2015

That’s downright lofty, but I like it.   I went on the site and found that fuel can be made from plant fiber; poultry litter and other animal wastes; industrial waste; and the paper component of municipal solid waste.  That’s good ish right there (no pun intended)! It really is fascinating what’s being tried and tested in the quest for clean energy.  I wonder though if we increased funding to places like this and reduced it for foolishness like trips to the Moon and Mars how much quicker could those goals be attained?

Right now, people are unable to get to their jobs, medical appointments, loved ones, etc. because of gas prices and shortages.  And god bless you if you own a SUV,  lord knows you are getting fleeced worst than a tourist on Times Square.  Furthermore, we are not even talking about what these fuels do our health and planet.

I’m putting this up as a service, but mostly, as gateway to further study.  We need to stay up on this topic so we can demand what we need, as opposed of being told all manners of the ”truth” or dictated to (i.e. 700 Billion Bailout!)

If folks would like to share additional resources, let a brother know!

I find when people start running for exits; it is usually because something is burning.  In this case it is the McCain campaign.  Yesterday’s news was all about McCain and his desire to postpone the presidential race, in order that he may return to Washington, DC to work on the current financial crisis, because, “this is no time to play presidential politics”, “We are in a real financial crisis”….blah, blah…bulls*it!   You cannot be serious? What is he going to do?  He is not even on the damn committee deciding whether the deal goes through or not.  We didn’t even have a crisis last week according to him.

See…

This is why gimmicks only work in advertising, because in politics, sooner or later, you will be exposed.  Mr. McCain is being undressed for what he is…uninformed, marginalized, and like his running mate, not very bright.  Every time his running mate opens her mouth she sounds rehearsed and slightly dangerous.  Hillary Clinton on her worst day never sounded so frighteningly bad.  As for McCain, he is starting to make Dubya look like an A student from Yale with his schizo diatribes about the country.

Obama has opened up a 9 point lead in this race according to yesterday’s polls and the biggest elephant is not happy about it.  He wants to pack up his toys and move to another sandbox.  He wants to call a timeout.  Remember when you were beating the snot out someone in a game so bad, they needed a break just to try to stop the bleeding?  That’s what you are seeing here, except, it was wholly unnecessary and in truth awfully, awfully strange.  I kept saying, why would his advisors let him do that?, or why did they advise him to do that?  I guess the strategy for the elephants is, no matter what we do, if they keep talking about us, we’ll win.  And you know, they could be right, stranger things have happened (2000 election).

Having said that, I think the cream is starting to rise to the top in this race.  Barack Obama is starting to separate himself not just in ideology, but also in confidence.  This guy is like a good new hire that keeps getting better and better with each passing day.  McCain’s request was properly and immediately declined and rebuffed.  He didn’t say what everyone else thought yesterday, rather, he said, he thought this was the time people needed to hear from their leaders the most.  That’s leadership.  It has to be getting harder and harder for the rest of the country to look at and listen to Barack Obama and not see that he genuinely wants to put this country together, person by person, city by city, and state by state.  I think he can.

The East Indians are not having it!

September 24, 2008

Corporate India is in shock after a mob of sacked workers bludgeoned to death the chief executive who had dismissed them from a factory in a suburb of Delhi. Lalit Kishore Choudhary, 47, the head of the Indian operations of Graziano Transmissioni, an Italian-headquartered manufacturer of car parts, died of severe head wounds on Monday afternoon after being attacked by scores of laid-off employees, police said. The incident, in Greater Noida, just outside the Indian capital, followed a long-running dispute between the factory’s management and workers who had demanded better pay and permanent contracts.

According to reports, Choudhary had summoned about 100 workers to discuss a possible reinstatement. A police spokesman said: “Only a few people were called inside. About 150 people were waiting outside when they heard someone from inside shout for help. They rushed in and the two sides clashed. The company staff were heavily outnumbered.”

Other executives said they were lucky to escape with their lives. “I just locked my room’s door from inside and prayed they would not break in. See, my hands are trembling even three hours later,” an Italian consultant, Forettii Gatii, told a local newspaper. More than 60 people were arrested and more than 20 were in hospital yesterday.

After reading this story (thank you Propeller) and watching the video (thank you You Tube)  I am just (tickled to death) in shock–at how our CEO’s get away with this kind of crap all the time.  This financial crisis has made me want to ask the following questions?

Will there ever be a push for Credit Amnesty for Americans? (I’d do community service to clear my credit, wouldn’t you?)

Will there ever be a push for Student Loan Amnesty for Americans? (I’d do community service to get this monster out of my life, wouldn’t you?)

Will there ever be a push to aid those who are affected by foreclosure on their homes? (I know a few people who would handwash the pavement to keep their home)

WHERE IS THE BAILOUT PLAN FOR US??????????

or

Will we have get down New Dehli style and start waitin’ for CEO’s outside HQ?

“See you at 5′oclock yo!” (the assistant pounds his fists and points at slimy CEO)

All the kings horses and all the kings men….

Its MY fault????

September 22, 2008

This is NOT my fault.

I did not ask for predatory loans, in fact, I shouldn’t have been offered them in first place.

I did not ask for the war in Iraq, in fact, I was lied to and convinced by my President, Senate and Congress that the global war on terror should be fought first in Iraq.

I did not ask for this economy, in fact, I was told that the fundamentals of this economy were strong.  I was told that this was a mere period of adjustment.

I did not ask for these gas prices, in fact, I have repeatedly asked for a way to plug my car into the outlet in my garage, but to no avail.

I did not ask for corn-fed chickens and cows.

I did not ask America to stop making stuff.

I did not ask America to outsource its work.

I did not ask ESPN to hire Keyshawn Johnson.

I did not ask America to play second  fiddle to China

I did not ask America to allow the dollar to play second fiddle to the Euro

I did not ask for an educational system that doesn’t produce enough mathematicians and scientists.

I did not ask for a new Yankee Stadium

I did not ask Jesse Jackson for his thoughts or leadership

I did not ask for a culture war to determine the presidency of the United States.

I did not ask for corporate jails replete with quotas

I did not ask for a corporate Army or Marine Corps.

I did not ask for a soft, aloof, kinder, gentler, Democratic Party

I did not ask for a stiff, arms-driven, small-minded, Republican Party

I did not ask for the Bush Doctrine

I did not ask for the response to Katrina

I did not ask for more faith based initiatives.

I did not ask for the terror alert system.

I did not ask for computers to dominate my work, social, and family lives.

I was not given a choice, as guaranteed to me by very own Constitution, which I did not ask my government to ignore.

Ask Not What Your Government Can Do For YOU?!?

9/11/01

September 11, 2008

Is it still 1963?

September 10, 2008

Lord have mercy, how much more can a liberal take?  Do I really need to hear anymore from the right?   I mean really, I actually heard a McCain ad yesterday use Joe Biden’s “That’s not change, that’s more of the same” line.  That’s not more of the same…that IS the same ish John!  I’ve been unusally quiet about this race because in all honesty, I wanted to be good and insulted before I wrote anything.  Well I’m there now.

1. I cannot remember the last time a Vice President nominee ran against a Presidential nominee.  In fact, I bet you can’t either.

2. Sarah Palin is a poor victim of how desperate the right really is right now.  They pulled this woman out of their ass, and now they’re going to have to take Joe Biden’s foot in it.

2. The right is trying to make this campaign as nasty as they can because they have no real agenda for this country.   Unless you call scaring the shit out of me everyday a real agenda.

3. Community Organizing is one of the most dynamic and special gifts you can bestow upon this country.  It ranks higher than most political offices because it usually deals with a problem directly.

4. The Rupublicans spent three days using the phrase “community organizer” like the word asshole.  Assholes.

5. You know, after watching multiple episodes of “Generation Kill” I’m not so sure I ever want to elect a solidier to any damn thing.

6. John McCain, let me say this one more time, “I AM NOT YOUR FRIEND”

7. It was said this weekend that if one of Barack and Michelle’s daughters got knocked by some thug-life dude the election would be over.  You damn straight!

8. It was also said that it wouldn’t happen because Michelle would have knocked one of her daughters out first.  You damn straight!

9. I am so tired of liberals not sticking up for themselves.  We’re always so damn cordial, myself included.  That’s gotta stop.

10.  The RNC reminded me of a Klan rally for a lynching.  “But, dude, there were black people there!:

       I know.

11. I watched because the wife said I must know what the other side is saying even if I didn’t agree.  I have never heard so many code words for “*igger” in my life.

12. Damn. It feels good to be writing again.

13. I know the right isn’t aware of this but ”The Poor” are also known as “Americans”.  Maybe we     should get that in writing just as a reminder oh wait we do, its called THE CONSTITUTION!!!!

Elections are about issues.  Issues that affect your daily life.  Or at least they should be.  Its amazing what happens when Republicans start losing a race.  They start distorting, and attacking on semantics–all in an effort to subvert the truth.  The truth is, we’ve given this party eight years of our lives, and what we have isn’t worth the sacarfice.  The Right should be forced to campaign on its record, its vision and convictions.

The right first attacked Obama’s experience, when that didn’t work, they went to his past (Rev. Wright), when that didn’t work, they went to his popularity (as if), then they find this Palin woman to lead a convention of racist gun-nuts to attack his character.

How consistantly inconsistant can you get?  Furthermore, that is NOT the way to campaign.  Honest and consistant is the way to go.  From the beginning the Obama campaign has been about change.  It remains about change.  From the beginning, the Obama campaign has tried to be the “adults” in a race with children.  All this whining from the Obama haters is making me drunk.

Simply put, Barack Obama is their worst nightmare realized…a strong minded liberal that gets it.  Please note that I did not say anything about him being Black…being black will not mean a damn thing in front of Vladimir Putin.  Whose soul I’m still searching for.
